Reviews that mention long term use are more valuable than comments written on day one. I enjoy reading threads where people honestly share what worked and what failed for them. Good stitching usually means the item will not fall apart after one or two washes. Even big and famous brands sometimes send generic replies that are not very helpful.
If anyone is interested in real user experiences, I sometimes write short notes about the shops I test.

This is why I like reading and posting on forums and community websites. Sometimes a store looks great in ads but the real product is completely different. The same is true for metal versus acetate frames for glasses. Footwear is even harder because different brands cut shoes very differently. Now I am more careful with impulse buys and limited time offers. Online shops that show detailed measurements and care instructions usually get my attention. Good packaging and a small storage bag are also nice touches for accessories. Online shopping will always have a bit of risk, but experience makes it easier.
